There is a lot of controversy over which is better: Marvel or DC. Personally, I prefer Marvel over DC, so I may seem a little biased. However, I have heard that DC has better comics than Marvel, but I wouldn’t know because I don’t read a lot of comics. Just based on overall gross for the movies, Marvel is clearly in the lead. The highest grossing DC film, The Dark Knight, grossed $533,000,000 dollars, where Black Panther, Marvel’s highest grossing film, made $700,000,000. Even looking at reviews, Marvel still outranks DC. Even though Marvel may gross more per film and have better reviews, that does not mean DC is bad. There are even a number of DC films I enjoy watching, it’s just that I enjoy Marvel more. I think the main reason Marvel is ahead of DC so much is because of their cinematic universe. Rather than just making individual films, each Marvel film since Iron Man has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. DC started their own cinematic universe with Man of Steel in 2013. Even though some may say DC only did this to follow in Marvel’s footsteps, it was still a step in the right direction. Marvel and DC are two separate sides of a coin so I ask you, what side are you on?
